Expanding the garden

The foot overlooking the big pile of soil that the dump truck dropped off the other day. 10 cubic yards. That's a lot of soil. The foot has already made quite the dent in it. Foot Jr has been playing in the dirt - that's quite the little back hoe that he's got.

The garden now has 8 boxes. 4 more than last time. The foot will be adding one or two more off to the side. The foot, while perfect, was not meant for manual labour. Building those boxes almost caused a callous on the big toe. And the shoveling and pushing the wheel barrow is a lot of work for 2 feet. The onions, carrots, beets and turnip have been planted. The rest will be planted in the weeks ahead as it gets warmer.

Neither the foot nor Sandra's feet are impressed with the squirrels. It's one thing to eat the bird seed. The foot can live with that. The foot understands that's just par for the course when you live in a forest and put out bird seed. The foot, however, is most displeased with the squirrel droppings and squirrel urine on the deck eating through the wood. The foot counted 8 different squirrels coming and going this afternoon. The foot is going to Home Depot this week to inquire about rodent poison.

Sandra's feet on the back deck. It's ok if you throw up in your mouth a little bit. 7 1/2 D. Extra thick.
