The foot enjoying a beer

The feet walked down to the liquor store tonight and picked up 16 Labatt Blue. It's the Canada Day long weekend - the feet deserve a break.

The feet as body temperature regulators

I like to sleep with my feet sticking out the end of the covers. That way, the circulation of the blood through the feet helps to cool my body. And if I get too cold, instead of putting on another blanket, I just bring my feet back under the covers. It’s an ingenious system.

Not much happening with the feet lately

They stood in the kitchen for about 2 hours last night cooking. They were in the shower this morning at 6 am. I may scrub them with some skin scrubbing cream that Sandra bought in Vegas. And then follow up with moisturizer.

My tonenails are in need of clipping. I think I'll do that tonight.

Foot glory

A momentous milestone has recently passed in the history of Leo’s feet. Throughout the province of Nova Scotia, the district, regional and provincial school track meets were recently held over a period of 5 weeks. It has been 17 years since Leo’s feet ran the opening leg of the 4x100 meter relay team that set the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Junior Boys’ provincial record – 48.4 seconds. And 17 years later, the record still stands.

The year 1990 was a good year for Leo’s feet – first place in the Capital District 4x100 meter relay; first place in the Regional 4x100 meter relay; and then first place, and a provincial record, in the Nova Scotia Provincial Track meet in the 4x100 meter relay. Three red ribbons.

Since that glorious day in the history of Leo’s feet, the closest that any team has come to the record is 49.9 seconds. Leo’s feet expect to be basking in the glow of advanced podiatric age before any other set of 4 feet give them a run for their money.

During the running of that race it was necessary to wear track shoes, which are worn about 2 sizes too small. This caused the feet to get all scrunched up and perhaps threatened their inherent perfection. But I weighed everything in the balance and decided that it was worth risking slight imperfection for eternal glory. It was a good decision.
